“ Effectively New – Under 20 Miles Recorded ”

Finished in Laguna Seca Blue with the Silverstone and black Merino M leather interior, every single aspect of the car’s curation and storage has been carefully thought through before being meticulously carried out.

Vehicle Story

The BMW M4 M Heritage Edition might be a bit of a mouthful but it is a helluva car.

Out of a limited run of 750 examples, just 75 were earmarked for sale in the UK to mark the end of the production run of the F82/F83 cars.

Offered in one of three colours – in the UK 25 of each were available – the Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue or Imola Red they built them in reflect the three colours of the M Sport logo.

The Heritage Edition also has the standard car’s carbon-fibre reinforced plastic composite roof but sits on model-specific 20-inch alloy wheels. Unique M Heritage badging and an M Sport stripe on the roof complete the exterior changes.

The interior features unique sports seats finished in a two-tone Merino M leather finish with the colour scheme dependent on the coachwork: Laguna Seca Blue cars are trimmed in Silverstone and black leather with turquoise stitching; Velvet Blue cars feature orange and blue upholstery; while the Imola Red models have red and black leather with red and yellow stitching.

All get treadplates and a carbon fibre dashboard, plus the M Heritage Edition logo and the confirmation that this is one of just 750 examples built.

Power comes from the same turbocharged three-litre straight-six engine as the standard M4 Coupé, which is fine because that gives the driver access to 450bhp which is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

The top speed remains an electronically limited 155mph after passing 62mph in 4.3 seconds, which is enough, surely?

Vehicle Overview

‘RO70 KTA’ might be three years old but it’s been in professional storage under an M Sport car cover since the seller bought it from Dick Lovett in September 2020.

It was delivered there on a low loader to keep the mileage down, and has just passed an MoT - and that it did so with no advisories won’t come as a surprise when you learn it’s still covered just 20 miles from new and yet has still been serviced in line with BMW’s requirements.

Finished in Laguna Seca Blue with the Silverstone and black Merino M leather interior, every single aspect of the car’s curation and storage has been carefully thought through before being meticulously carried out.

If you’re looking for a museum-quality example of the last of the original M4 super-saloons then you can call off the search because this is effectively still a brand new car.

Exterior

The Laguna Seca Blue coachwork is exactly as it was when it left the factory, which is to say it features mm-perfect shutlines, perfect panel alignment, and a fantastic shine to that amazing Laguna Seca Blue finish.

The open design of the 20-inch alloy wheels allows you to admire the huge vented brake discs and M Sport brake calipers and, of course, both the factory-fitted Michelin tyres and the wheels are unmarked.

And the colour of the alloy wheels ties with that of the carbon-fibre reinforced plastic composite roof, an expensive and hyper-cool feature that reduces weight while simultaneously adding so much to the M4’s sporting character.

It’s got an M Sport stripe too, which only enhances your bragging rights as it isn’t a sticker or paint but is incorporated into the CFPR composite roof structure at the factory

Speaking of bragging rights, you also get Adaptive LED headlamps, aerodynamic door mirrors, and four exhaust tailpipes, plus, of course, one of the best stances money can buy.

Interior

The Silverstone and black Merino M leather interior looks terrific, doesn’t it? That it’s barely ever been sat in helps but the contrasting turquoise stitching adds additional interest to what is already a feature-packed cockpit.

The sports seats are as figure hugging as you’d expect to find in a car with the M4’s predilection for high-G cornering, and all four are still immaculate with nary a crease to disturb your OCD.

There’s carbon-fibre galore too, and what there is also features a subtle red and blue, M Sport fleck to the weave.

There’s no shortage of M Sport badges either, plus matching stitching to the steering wheel and stripes on the seatbelts. There’s some dedicated embroidery to the front seat headrests too, just in case you needed reminding that you’re sitting in something very special indeed.

There are also plenty of toys to keep you occupied including a head-up display that allows you to fulfil your Top Gun fantasies.

Not to forget a set of Harmon/Kardon speakers plus a comprehensive multi-media system, flappy paddles, electric seats, air-conditioning, etc., etc. Too much to list, in fact, but please take our word when we tell you that you aren’t going to feel short-changed.

As for its curation, you’ll notice the protective covers to the handbrake lever and gearknob. Plus, the tag warning that the tyres have 40psi in them – and that the fuel tank has only five litres of fuel in it as it was recently drained to prevent stale petrol causing problems.

(Modern fuel only has a shelf-life of about six months and petrol stabilisers bring their own problems, so the best plan of action is to drain the tank like this, and then only add the amount of fresh fuel you can use in a session.)

The seller has done all he can to preserve his beloved BMW in showroom condition, and his hard work and care has paid off because it is still essentially new, even down to the factory accoutrements in the boot, which are still sealed in their original packaging.

Mechanical

If you go to https://video.citnow.com/vtKLCQR--yg you’ll see a short video from Dick Lovett showing just how clean the car’s underside is.

The BMW was serviced in August 2022 and this not only included having fresh oil and a new oil filter fitted but the fuel tank was also removed and drained.

The next service is due in August 2024, at which time you might like to ask them to pop a new battery in the remote key fob.

As for the condition of the engine and engine bay, it’s pristine, beautifully presented, and completely original. We know we keep repeating ourselves but this is effectively a brand new car.

History Highlights

The M4’s MoT certificate is valid until September 2024, and with just 18 miles on the clock when it was tested, it won’t surprise you to hear that it passed with no advisories.

The recent Vehicle History Check is clear bar the marker for finance, which will be cleared when the car sells.

The BMW comes with two key fobs, the factory book pack and wallet, and a V5 in the seller’s name.

What We Think

Look, it’s effectively a brand-new car and is only being sold because he needs to free up the funds for a house purchase.

Finished in what we think is the nicest colour of the three that were offered, all we can add is that our estimate is somewhere between £40,000 and £60,000 - and that you are highly unlikely to ever get this opportunity again.

As for future values, who knows? The price of the older M3s has certainly been moving in the right direction for a long time now, and given we’re all going to struggle to buy a new petrol car in the not-too-distant future, you might do very nicely if you can continue to keep this one squirrelled away…
